Dal Tadka is a North Indian dish, frequently used as curry for chappathi. It is cooked from moong dal or thoor dal, rich in taste and rich in protein and fibre.
Ingredients
Moong Dal – 1 (small cup / 150 grams)
Onion – 1 no
Tomato – 2 nos
Green Chillies – 3 nos
Dry Chillies – 2 nos
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 Teaspoon
Ghee – 2 Teaspoon
Cumin Seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Coriander Leaves – 4 Stems
Salt – as required
Directions
Take a pressure cooker, and add washed moong dal in it.
Add chopped onion, tomato, and green chillies into it.
Add turmeric powder along with required amount of salt into it.
Pour 3 cups of water (same measuring cup used for moong dal) into the pressure cooker.
Close the lid. Pressure cook for 3 whistles. Wait till pressure drops. Open the lid.
Mix it slightly and add corriander leaves in it. Keep it aside.
Take a tadka pan, add 2 tablespoon of ghee and wait till it heats for 1 minute.
Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds and 2 dry chillies in it. Fry them well for another 1 minute.
Pour this mixture into dal tadka. Mix it well.
Delicious Dal Tadka is ready !
